Taking inspiration from the trending Bento Box designs and the 70s resurgence, I wanted to play with “if Pyrex did gay”. Reclaiming fruits and exploring retro colour schemes, this was a simple-seeming but unique challenging.

As photographs began being incorporated and the branding for this year evolved, I purposely allowed images to break the borders, reminding the Community that we’re allowed to break the mold.

In 2023, the Calgary Community was facing fear and hostility due to the heightening of Trans discrimination in Alberta. For this year, I highlighted into photpgraphic images, pushing the reality of our Communities presence. Exploring queer coded symbols, ones used to communicate privately amongst ourselves in the public eye, I prioritized communicating these elements with pride, instead of going back into hiding.

Playing on the "Neighbourhood Watch" logo, I designed this sticker as a fun Progressive Flag alternative that takes away the pressure of uncertainty for all parties involved.
